Lu Li is a Professor in the Physics Department at the University of Michigan, where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2002 and completed his Ph.D. at Princeton University in 2008. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, he was a Pappalardo Fellow at MIT. His research interests focus on Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, particularly the investigation of novel magnetic transport properties in strongly correlated systems, oxide interfaces, frustrated quantum magnets, and high-temperature superconductors. He is especially engaged in the study of topological quantum materials and the interplay between spin and orbital states, which leads to a rich diversity of new phenomena. His work aims to unravel fundamental principles underlying these complex materials and assess their possible applications.
