Biography

Lubos Pastor is the Charles P. McQuaid Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has served as president of the European Finance Association and is a board member of the Fama-Miller Center for Research in Finance. In addition, he is part of the advisory board for the Andersen Institute for Finance and Economics. Professor Pastor has held leadership positions including president of the Western Finance Association and director of the American Finance Association. He has also served on the board of the National Bank of Slovakia and as an associate editor for renowned journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies. His research primarily focuses on financial markets and investment management, with published works appearing in top-tier journals like the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy. Throughout his academic career, he has received numerous accolades, including the 2024 Stephen Ross Prize in Financial Economics and multiple awards recognizing his contributions to teaching and research. Professor Pastor has been teaching at Chicago Booth since 1999 and obtained his Ph.D. in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include Financial Markets, Investment Management, Sustainable Finance, and Government Policy.
