Biography

Luc Bulten is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of History, focusing on Sri Lankan History. He has held research positions at notable institutions including Leiden University and the University of Groningen. His work examines the interactions between local and global influences on the development of Colombo's suburbs and society. Luc has published in renowned journals and is completing a book titled "Lives, Land, Labour. Social History Eighteenth-Century Sri Lanka," set for release in February 2026. His research contributes to understanding how historical inhabitants of Colombo navigated their environments and offers insights into contemporary issues. He encourages inquiries related to his research and teaching.
