Professor Luca Ceriani graduated in Medicine from the University of Pavia in 1988 and achieved post-graduation in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Milan in 1992. In 1994, he received the 'Felice Perussia' Award in Nuclear Medicine from the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine (AIMN). He worked in the Nuclear Medicine Department of the University Hospital of Varese, Italy, where he served as the Director of the Diagnostic Imaging Unit and the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory from 1991 to 2003. In June 2003, he moved to Canton Ticino and continued his professional activity at the Clinic of Nuclear Medicine PET-CT Centre of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, where he has held the position of Deputy Head and Director of the Molecular Imaging Unit since 2016. In 2018, he began a scientific collaboration with the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) in Bellinzona and led the Laboratory for Radiomics in predictive medicine at the Imaging Institute of Southern Switzerland (IIMSI) in 2019. From 2003 to 2017, he was an invited Professor of Nuclear Medicine in the post-graduate Schools of Diagnostic Radiology and Cardiology at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy. In 2018, he obtained habilitation and received 'venia legendi' in Nuclear Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Zurich (UZH). In 2020, he became a professor of Nuclear Medicine in the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI, Lugano. His major research interests focus on imaging oncology, clinical PET applications, technical instrumentation, and health management, with over 150 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
