Luca Luceri's research focuses on network science with an emphasis on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning for social good. He began his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari (2009-2012) and subsequently completed his Master's at the Polytechnic University of Milan (2012-2014). After obtaining his doctorate, he joined the Information Sciences Institute (ISI) at the University of Southern California (USC) as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2022-2023) and currently serves as a Research Assistant Professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science while also being a Lead Scientist at ISI. His work primarily revolves around artificial intelligence, computational social science, and human-machine interaction. Luca is a co-Principal Investigator on DARPA's INCAS project, which focuses on detecting and tracking geopolitical influence campaigns, and he also leads the NSF-funded CARISMA project aimed at developing computational models to support effective policy recommendations for mitigating online harms. His research has received recognition through numerous awards, including a paper presentation award at the Web Conference 2024 and the 2024 ISSNAF Young Investigator Award from the Embassy of Italy for his work in artificial intelligence.
