Biography

Lucian Ashworth is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has spent sixteen years in the Department of Political Science at the University of Limerick in Ireland before joining Memorial. His research interests include international relations theory, history, political thought, and the interplay between theories of war and peace as well as issues of gender, race, and the Anthropocene. He is the author of 'History of International Thought' published by Routledge in 2014 and is currently developing a book for the Routledge 'Worlding the West' series that further explores themes in international relations. Ashworth has published extensively, contributing articles to leading journals and several books focusing on various aspects of international relations and history. He also engages in student research supervision, guiding students in their understanding of complex political dynamics and historical perspectives.
