Biography

Lucy Marcil, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Pediatrics, particularly General Pediatrics. She is the Associate Director for Economic Mobility at the Center for the Urban Child and Healthy Family at Boston Medical Center. Her work is focused on developing innovative solutions to promote financial health equity. Dr. Marcil is a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow and is currently working on health economic policy issues affecting families in the United States Congress. She is also the co-founder and Executive Director of Boston Medical Center’s StreetCred program, which provides economic resources, such as free tax and financial services, to families visiting pediatric practices. Her contributions have sparked a national movement toward creating Medical Financial Partnerships and she leads the Health Wealth Collective, an open-source tool designed to improve family financial well-being. Dr. Marcil has been recognized with several awards, including the Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a TED Fellow, her TED talk reached 1.4 million viewers, showcasing her impactful work in the community.
