Dr. Ludovic Phalippou

Biography

Ludovic specializes in private equity asset management and is the author of the bestseller 'Private Equity Laid Bare'. He is a professor of Financial Economics at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, focusing on private market investments with an emphasis on fee tracking, interest alignment, and return benchmarking. He was recognized as one of 'The 40 Outstanding Business School Profs in the World' in 2014 and listed among the 20 influential individuals in private equity in Europe in 2016. His paper 'How do alternative private markets perform?' earned him the Jack Treynor Prize in 2018, sponsored by the Q-Group, which acknowledges outstanding academic papers with potential applications in investment management and financial markets. Ludovic holds a degree in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics, a Master's in Mathematical Finance from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in Finance from INSEAD. He actively engages with industry professionals and has conducted advisory work for the Pennsylvania Treasury and Blackrock Investment Institute.
