Biography

Luigi Gnudi obtained his MD with Honors from Parma University in Italy in 1988, completing specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in 1993 at the University of Padua. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow under Professor Barbara B. Kahn at Harvard Medical School from 1992 to 1995 and earned his PhD in Endocrinological Sciences from Milan University in 1999. In 2005, he was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. Currently, he serves as Head of the Unit for Metabolic Medicine and is a Professor in Diabetes and Metabolic Medicine at King’s College London and a Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Gnudi is also a subject editor for several medical journals and is an active member of multiple professional societies. His research focuses on diabetic nephropathy and diabetic vascular complications, and he has published over 100 original papers and books on these topics.
