Luigi Lorenzetti obtained his doctorate in Economics within the Social Sciences at the University of Geneva and began his teaching career thereafter. He has taught at various universities including Fribourg and Grenoble and has served as a visiting professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Throughout his career, he has published numerous articles focused on economic and social history in the Alps and has coordinated several research projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Currently, he holds the position of Titular Professor at the Accademia di architettura where he also coordinates the Laboratorio di Storia delle Alpi. His research interests include family history, historical demography, migration history, economic and social history of the Alps, territorial management, and property history.
