Biography

Professor Luisa Menapace's research focuses on the structure, functioning, and roles of markets and organizations in agribusiness. Her work addresses crucial issues related to product differentiation, product quality, and the informational emphasis on institutional aspects of consumer competition policy, sustainability, and intellectual property within the context of agribusiness governance. She incorporates insights from experimental and behavioral economics to explain consumer food purchase decisions under conditions of risk and uncertainty. Professor Menapace holds a Laurea degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Padua, Italy, a Master’s degree in Agribusiness from Sacred Heart Catholic University, Italy, and a PhD in Economics from Iowa State University, USA. After completing her PhD, she worked as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Economics at the University of Trento, Italy, from 2010 to 2012, and then served as an assistant professor at the University of Bonn, Germany, from 2012 to 2013. In August 2013, she was appointed to the newly created chair in Governance of International Agribusiness at the Technical University of Munich.
