Dr. Lukasz Rachel

Biography

Lukasz Rachel is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at University College London. He completed his PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics. He has also served as a postdoctoral fellow in the economics department at Princeton University and as a Fulbright Research Fellow at Harvard University. With a strong background in macroeconomics, his research focuses on topics such as economic growth, the impact of technology on inequality, and monetary and fiscal policy, as well as the politics surrounding economic sanctions. He has previously worked as a Research Adviser at the Bank of England from 2008 to 2021, where he engaged in various economic research initiatives. His involvement in expert groups, including one focused on sanctions against Russia, highlights his commitment to applying economic knowledge to real-world challenges.
