Biography

Luke Odell is a Professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Uppsala University. He was born in Tamworth, Australia, in 1981. He graduated with an Honours BSc. in Forensic Science from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2002, and completed his PhD studies under the guidance of Professor Adam McCluskey in 2006, focusing on the synthesis of enzyme inhibitors. Subsequently, he undertook a postdoctoral position with Professor Mats Larhed at Uppsala University in 2006. In 2016, he was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and was promoted to Full Professor in 2022. His research interests encompass molecular imaging, heterocyclic chemistry, PET chemistry, and medicinal chemistry.
