Lula Romero is a composer specializing in electroacoustic and acoustic music. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz, Austria, and a Master's degree in Composition from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Netherlands. Additionally, she has degrees in Composition, Piano, and Art History from the University of Sevilla in Spain. Her compositional work explores the phenomenon of space, music structure, and the material relation theories and practices surrounding feminism, questioning social equality. In recognition of her talent, Romero was awarded the GIGA-HERTZ Production Prize in 2014 by ZKM | SWR and the Rheinsberger Kompositionspreis in 2011. She also received a residence at the Deutsches Studienzentrum in Venice in 2017 through the German Government. Her 2019 CD "Ins Offene" was published by WERGO, in the series "Edition Zeitgenössische Musik." Her music has been commissioned and performed at various prestigious festivals, including Donaueschinger Musiktage in Germany, MATA in New York, SPOR in Aarhus, Mixtur in Barcelona, and the Sonification Festival in Berlin.
