Biography

Luyao Bao is an Adjunct Lecturer at the UCL School of Management, where she teaches the foundational module MSIN0142 Organisational Behaviour. This course enables students to explore key theories and evidence regarding leadership, motivation, personality, and organizational culture, fostering an understanding of the drivers of employee behavior. Through interactive lectures, case studies, and applied exercises, she supports students in developing evidence-based approaches to leading and collaborating effectively in diverse organizational settings. Her research interests lie in corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, and corporate governance within multinational contexts. She completed her PhD at Queen Mary University of London, focusing on an in-depth case study of a leading British firm operating in China, examining how cultural and institutional contexts shape employee engagement with CSR and ESG initiatives. She has presented her work at international academic conferences like the British Academy of Management (BAM) and the European Group on Organizational Studies (EGOS), and has collaborated on large-scale Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) projects. Luyao holds an Associate Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and is bilingual in English and Mandarin, with proficiency in German at the C1 level.
