Dr. Lydia Li

Biography

Lydia W. Li is a Professor at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, specializing in gerontology with a focus on healthy aging for older adults facing socio-economic disadvantages. Her current research investigates issues related to social isolation, depression, and ageism. Li is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and has served as the co-chair for the GSA program committee. She is also an associate editor for the International Journal of Social Welfare and sits on the editorial board for the Journal of Gerontological Social Work. In her academic role, she teaches courses in social welfare policy, research methods, program evaluation, and aging policy, contributing significantly to the field through her educational efforts and research output.
