Dr. Lydie Moudileno

Biography

Lydie Moudileno is the Marion Frances Chevalier Professor of French at the University of Southern California. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 1994. Moudileno specializes in literary and cultural productions of the Francophone world, with a particular focus on the Caribbean and West Central Africa, as well as postcolonial France. Her work has critically examined issues of authorship and metaliterary representations in Francophone Caribbean literature and Congolese fiction in post-Negritude contexts. She authored and co-edited several significant volumes, contributing to the discourse on contemporary African fiction. In addition to her scholarly publications, Moudileno actively engages with various aspects of Francophone literature through her teaching and research, positioning her as a key figure in the field of Comparative Literature and French studies.
