Biography

Lynda Metelsky has been on the piano faculty of the University of Toronto since 1983 and served as the Piano Department Head for 16 years. She is also on the summer faculty of the International Institute for Young Musicians in the USA. Ms. Metelsky has conducted master classes in Canada and Germany, and has worked with institutions such as the Mannheim School, San Francisco Conservatory, Kansas University, and Hartt School. She has adjudicated competitions in 25 Canadian cities and has served as an adjudicator for the Concourse Musical de France and SYMFA Seattle. Since 1988, she has been a frequent lecturer on piano pedagogy in Canada and the USA, regularly presenting at pedagogy conferences, particularly WPPC and MTNA. Furthermore, Ms. Metelsky is a piano pedagogy instructor at the Royal Conservatory where she examines ARCT Piano Pedagogy for RCM Examinations. She developed the Teaching Internship Program in Artist Diploma Performance Pedagogy at the Glenn Gould School.
