His primary focus is on the role of interpersonal synchrony in shaping social exchange, drawing on the science of coordination dynamics to provide a framework for understanding how people align their actions and thoughts to influence the success of social endeavors. His work bridges levels of analysis, examining the impact of interpersonal synchrony on social-cognitive functioning, mental health, and the interplay of coordinated behavior within group dynamics. Additionally, he is interested in the role of mental imagery and emotion in social situations, particularly in how coordination affects the experience and expression of emotion during interactions.
