Biography

Lyndon Jones is a Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. He has authored 550 refereed professional papers and a textbook, and has given over 1200 invited lectures at conferences in more than 40 countries. His primary research interests include contact lens material development and testing, dry eye, the impact of material composition on tear film deposition, ocular comfort, and various drug delivery systems. He has conducted extensive research on myopia control, daily extended wear contact lenses, and the ocular response to contact lens wear. Further, he focuses on the development of ocular biomaterials, proteins, and interfaces, and their applications in optical devices, biomaterials, polymers, and nanotechnology. He is a registered optometrist in both the UK and Canada and has received several prestigious recognitions, including Fellowships from Royal Society of Chemistry, Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and the British College of Optometrists.
