Biography

Lyndsay Coo is a Senior Lecturer in Ancient Greek Language and Literature at the University of Bristol. She completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, where she also held a Junior Research Fellowship at Trinity College. Since joining the University of Bristol in 2013, her primary research focus has been on ancient Greek drama, particularly the works of Sophocles. Her current research interests explore themes such as the representation of Troy and the Trojan War in Greek drama, as well as concepts of sisterhood within Greek thought and literature. She has published extensively, including edited volumes on Aeschylus and Female Characters in Fragmentary Greek Tragedy. Coo is committed to developing new critical methodologies for studying fragmentary texts and is currently supervising several PhD students on topics relating to Greek literature. She has also been actively involved in academic administration, serving as Director of Teaching for Classics and Ancient History. Coo is recognized for her innovative teaching practices and has received awards for her contributions to education.
