Lynette completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia and has held postdoctoral positions at Johns Hopkins University. Returning to the University of Western Australia, she has continued her research in respiratory pharmacology, emphasizing airway nerve function modulation and the impact of respiratory viral infections on allergic airways disease. Lynette is part of a nationwide team that secured funding for an Australian Learning Teaching Council project entitled “Ensuring Quality Graduates in Pharmacology.” She developed programs responsible for conducting learning research embedded in the Pharmacology Medical Research Honours curricula. Lynette also led the development and implementation of a multi-disciplinary ethics unit, and developed the ASCEPT Mentoring Program, for which she received the ASCEPT Teaching Excellence Award. An active member of the ASCEPT Education Forum and previously served as Chair, Lynette collaborates with ASCEPT colleagues to define core concepts in pharmacology. Additionally, she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves as a Councillor for the IUPHAR Education Section, contributing to critical discussions in pharmacology education.
