Biography

Lynn graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Nursing and has worked clinically in palliative and HIV/AIDS care. She completed her education as a mental health nurse while working in acute mental health settings and undertook her doctorate at the University of Edinburgh. Lynn has held academic positions at the Universities of Glasgow and Manchester and joined the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (now Centre for Psychosocial Research in Cancer, CentRIC) in 2012. She completed a Medical Research Council post-doctoral fellowship in health services research and health public at the University of Manchester, developing an intervention to support lung cancer patients following primary treatment. From 2020 to 2022, Lynn served as the group manager for the pre-registration nursing team, leading efforts to integrate research and education among staff. She is a member and chair of various organizations such as the National Cancer Research Institute and is actively engaged in research aimed at improving psychosocial care and outcomes for cancer patients.
