Biography

Lynn Johnson joined the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in the summer of 2002 after serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she was also the Director of Educational Methodology and Instructional Technology. She has been a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of the American Dental Association and the Journal of Dental Education. Dr. Johnson is the primary author involved with the educational software standards for the Dental Education Research Systems Task Force on Dental Informatics and has participated in the Accredited Standards Committee for Medical Devices. She is a member of various dental associations and has held significant positions, including being an officer with the International Association for Dental Research and the American Association for Dental Education. Currently, Dr. Johnson serves as a charter member of the iTunes U Advisory Board at Apple Computer, Inc. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating innovative strategies for delivering media effectively to enhance educational outcomes for dental students. This includes podcasting, interactive patient simulations, educational web products, and the development of a force-feedback dental surgical simulator.
