Biography

Lynn Monnat specializes in providing evidence-based therapies to traumatized youth, young children, and caregivers struggling with ADHD symptoms and disruptive behaviors. Her clinical focus includes early identification and intervention for youth at risk for developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Monnat earned her doctorate and master's degrees in school psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her internship in clinical psychology at UC Davis Children's Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Texas Child Study Center, focusing on trauma assessment and intervention through parent-child interaction therapy. Trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Monnat is an internationally certified Level 1 Trainer in PCIT. Her research interests include treatment adherence outcomes for evidence-based interventions and the early identification and intervention for youth and families at risk for developing PTSD. She has collaborated with departments at Dell Children’s to implement PTSD-risk screenings and provide early comprehensive assessment and intervention, with a focus on training psychology students, interns, and fellows in empirically supported treatments.
