Lynne Shankel is a composer, lyricist, orchestrator, and music supervisor known for her contributions to the musical theatre. She won the 2022 Richard Rodgers Award and the Lucille Jack Yellen ASCAP Award for her musical 'PERPETUAL SUNSHINE & GHOST GIRLS,' which was featured in the fall 2022 NAMT Festival. Her works include various festivals and premieres, such as 'HoT' at the University of Michigan New Works Festival 2023 and 'POSTCARD AMERICAN TOWN' at San Diego State University. Shankel's original musical 'MAYA' was commissioned for Teach India, aimed at empowering young girls in the country. She has also worked as a music supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger, including for the Broadway musical 'ALLEGIANCE.' Her credits include collaborations with notable artists and orchestras like Chita Rivera, Boston Pops, and the New York Pops. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with several nominations and awards for her orchestrations and contributions to musical productions. Shankel is an active member of Maestra Music NYC and a voting member of the Recording Academy.
