Biography

M. Birna van Riemsdijk is an Associate Professor in the Human-Media Interaction group at the University of Twente. She has an extensive research background in Cognitive Agent Programming, having obtained her PhD in 2006 from Utrecht University, followed by a postdoctoral position at LMU Munich. Van Riemsdijk previously served as an assistant professor at TU Delft starting in 2008. Her work spans intersections of Artificial Intelligence and Human Experience, making significant contributions to understanding how technology can intimately connect with human lives. Her publications reflect her commitment to this research direction, addressing themes surrounding responsible AI and agency in technology.
