Dr. M Khuri

Biography

M Khuri is a Clinical Professor and Counseling Psychology Training Director in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. As a licensed clinical psychologist, he has extensive experience in training and supervising students, particularly in counseling and psychotherapy practices. His teaching emphasizes effective delivery and meaningful outcomes in clinical settings. With a focus on family therapy, starting in fall 2025, he will be teaching a course for the Master’s Science Mental Health Counseling program. Previously, he worked as the program director for the Department of Housing, developing living-learning communities aimed at supporting diversity in STEM fields and pre-health professions. His clinical practice incorporates a range of psychological theories and frameworks including interpersonal psychology and self-psychology. He completed his Doctor of Psychology degree at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and has participated in clinical training at the University of Illinois Counseling Center. A commitment to social justice and experiential learning has been a hallmark of his professional appointments and contributions to educational programs in psychology.
