Dr. Madeleine Winberg

Biography

Madeleine Winberg is a Lecturer and employed doctoral student at Linköping University, focusing on implementation strategies in medical science. She spends considerable time teaching in both the Occupational Therapy program and the Master’s program in Medical Science, particularly in the course on Implementation in Healthcare. Her research aims to bridge the gap between expected practice and actual healthcare delivery based on available evidence. She is involved in a national research project that tests strategies for implementing evidence-based guidelines in orthopaedic contexts to prevent urinary retention, a common complication following hip surgery. Winberg’s doctoral project examines the incidence of this complication, patients' experiences of care, and the barriers and facilitators to implementing evidence in orthopaedic settings. Additionally, she evaluates the effects of her intervention strategies that ensure evidence-based care in hip surgery.
