Biography

Madhav Khosla is the B.R. Ambedkar Professor of Indian Constitutional Law at Columbia Law School and serves as the Faculty Director of the B.R. Ambedkar Program in Global Constitutionalism. His research focuses on comparative constitutional law, particularly in the context of South Asia and India. Khosla completed his Ph.D. in political theory at Harvard University, where his dissertation was awarded the Edward M. Chase Prize for addressing themes of global peace. In addition to his academic endeavors, he has worked as a research associate at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi and held clerkships with justice at the Supreme Court of India. Khosla's book, 'India’s Founding Moment: Constitution and Surprising Democracy' published by Harvard University Press in 2020, received the Order of Coif Book Award in 2021. He has also co-authored a leading casebook on comparative constitutional law and has contributed extensively to prominent journals and forums in law and democracy.
