Biography

Mads Græsbøll Christensen earned his M.Sc. in 2002, Ph.D. in 2005, and dr.techn. in 2022 from Aalborg University, Denmark. He is currently a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University. Dr. Christensen has held visiting positions at Philips Research Labs, ENST, UCSB, and Columbia University. He has authored 4 books and 300 peer-reviewed papers in conferences and journals, and has delivered tutorial keynote talks at international conferences. His research focuses on audio acoustic signal processing, including areas such as microphone arrays, noise reduction, signal modeling, speech analysis, and spatial audio. His work has received national and international recognition, including several IEEE paper awards, the Spar Nord Foundation’s Research Prize, the Danish Independent Research Council Young Researcher’s Award, the Statoil Prize, and the EURASIP Early Career Award. He has secured major grants from the Independent Research Fund Denmark, the Villum Foundation, and the Innovation Fund Denmark. Dr. Christensen is an active member of IEEE and EURASIP, having served as Chairman of the EURASIP Acoustic, Speech, Music Processing Technical Area Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, as well as a Villum Fellow.
