Professor Dr. Mads Jensen

Biography

Mads Brath Jensen is an Assistant Professor at Aalborg University, specializing in the fields of architecture, design, and media technology. His PhD research, conducted from 2017 to 2021, focused on design methods and procedures that establish direct relationships between creative design processes in architecture and interactive robotic fabrication. Jensen emphasizes cognitive design processes that are influenced by interactive real-time human-material-robot interactions. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering in Digital Design from Aalborg University, obtained in 2008, and has since engaged in teaching computational architecture, parametric design, and rapid prototyping technologies at the Bachelor and Master levels from 2008 to 2017. His research-oriented approach to teaching has led to a series of research pavilions that showcase the interconnection of computational form-finding, material behavior, and thermal-acoustic simulation alongside various fabrication techniques. His ongoing research projects continue to enhance the field of architectural design through innovative applications of robotics and interactive systems.
