Biography

Maen Husein is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Husein's research includes the development of nanoparticles for upgrading heavy oil using ultradispersed catalysts and sorbents, as well as enhancing the performance of drilling fluids and cement used in oil extraction operations. His group's efforts have shown promising results in reducing environmental impacts and costs associated with drilling and resource extraction activities.
