Biography

Maggie Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University. She obtained her PhD in 2016 from Auburn University and is a licensed clinical psychologist. In July 2018, she completed a T32 funded postdoctoral fellowship at the Yale Neuroimaging Sciences Training Program under the mentorship of Dr. Irina Esterlis, transitioning to faculty status. Dr. Davis's research interests primarily focus on utilizing molecular neuroimaging methods to enhance the understanding of the relationship between suicidal behavior and stress-related psychopathology. She has received an NIMH funded K08 award to investigate the relationship between mGluR5, a glutamate receptor involved in regulating emotions and pain experiences, and borderline personality disorder (BPD) symptom presentation and suicidal behavior. Ultimately, she aims to build on this study to develop independent lines of research that explore molecular mechanisms underpinning stress-related pathology such as BPD and suicidal behavior, with the goal of crafting novel and targeted treatment options.
