Dr. Maggie Wang

Biography

Maggie Yazhu Wang is a lecturer at the University of New South Wales, in the Business School of Information Systems and Technology Management. She received her PhD from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. Maggie is a problem-driven, human-centered AI researcher passionate about leveraging innovative technologies to help vulnerable populations and address societal challenges in a digital world. Her research primarily focuses on three main areas: leveraging physical AI robots to create value for public and non-profit organizations; utilizing AI agents to protect users from various threats such as deepfakes; and employing innovative technologies in education to enhance digital employability through low-code work-integrated learning. Maggie has published articles in journals such as the Journal of Management Information Systems and the Journal of Business Research, and she has presented her research at international conferences like the International Conference on Information Systems and the Australasian Conference on Information Systems. Furthermore, she is recognized as an award-winning educator advocating for work-integrated learning pedagogy in higher education.
