Professor Dr. Magnus Domellöf

Biography

Magnus Domellöf is a Professor of Pediatrics at Umeå University, focusing on early interventions that improve the long-term health of children, with a strong emphasis on nutrition and brain development. He works as a senior consultant physician in Pediatrics and is actively involved in clinical practices as a neonatologist at the Norrland University Hospital. Professor Domellöf leads the N4 Research Group and has extensive experience managing randomized interventional cohort studies, both locally and nationally. His research interests encompass pediatric nutrition, neonatology, and perinatology. He is currently investigating various aspects, including the impact of iron and iodine supplementation on children's development and has been involved in significant studies such as the GRANDIOSA study, which examines the effects of hydrolyzed protein formulas on infant development. Professor Domellöf has contributed to multiple research initiatives and developed clinical support software, Nutrium, to aid in neonatal nutrition follow-up. His ongoing projects address the connections between early nutrition and neurodevelopmental outcomes in children.
