Biography

Magnus Falk is a Professor at Linköping University, specializing in skin cancer prevention and the harmful effects of the sun. His research examines why individuals in Scandinavia, who are notably 'sun thirsty,' must take precautions against sun exposure, given the rising rates of skin cancer in Sweden and parts of the Western world. His thesis, titled 'Towards a Broader Use of Phototesting in Research, Clinical Practice, and Skin Cancer Prevention', focused on phototesting to measure ultraviolet sensitivity of the skin and its clinical applications in primary care. In addition to his primary research field, he engages in projects related to primary care and family medicine, elderly health, and gastrointestinal diseases, and supervises PhD students. Falk has a strong background in general practice and has contributed significantly to the education and supervision of medical students at Linköping University Medical School.
