Biography

Magnus Jansson received Master of Science, Technical Licentiate, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering (automatic control) from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, in 1992, 1995, and 1997, respectively. He held a lecturer position at the Control Department at KTH from 1997-98. He held positions in the Signal Processing Department at KTH, serving as Assistant Professor from 1998-2003, Associate Professor from 2003-2012, and was appointed Professor in 2013. Jansson was appointed Docent in Signal Processing at KTH in January 2002. He spent the year 1998-99 as a Post Doc at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota. He has served as Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters from 2008 to 2012 and Senior Area Editor from 2012 to 2014, and has been an Associate Editor for Elsevier Signal Processing from 2015 to 2023. He is currently an Associate Editor for the EURASIP Journal Advances in Signal Processing and the Subject Editor for Elsevier Signal Processing since 2024. His research interests include statistical signal processing, machine learning, positioning, sensor array processing, time series analysis, and system identification.
