Biography

Mahesh Marina is a Professor in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and a Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich. He was previously a Turing Fellow at the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence for five years (2018-2023). He served as the Director of the Institute for Computing Systems Architecture, one of the six research institutes in Informatics from August 2018 to July 2022. He has held visiting roles at ETH Zurich and Ofcom in London. Prior to joining Edinburgh, he completed a two-year postdoctoral position at the Mobile Systems Laboratory headed by Professor Rajive Bagrodia. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, under the supervision of Professor Samir Das. He is an IEEE Fellow and an ACM Distinguished Member.
