Biography

Mahmood Hameed joined the University of Washington's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) as an Assistant Teaching Professor in September 2022. He has extensive research and teaching experience and was previously a lecturer in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Hameed earned his bachelor’s degree in Electronics Communication Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, graduating with the highest distinction. Hameed's research interests include Fiber Optics, Photonics, Systems Engineering, Algorithm Development, Optimization, Digital Signal Processing, and Wireless Telecommunication Systems. He has received several honors and awards for his high-caliber work, including an Excellence in Teaching Award, the Graduate Ambassador Fellowship, and the Wallace S. Strobel Scholarship from the University of Kansas.
