Biography

Mahmoud H. Qutqut is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, as of September 2023. He has a diverse academic background with experience in various positions. Prior to joining UNB, he served as Chair of Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing at the Faculty of Information Technology at Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan from July 2022 to August 2023. He previously held the position of Associate Professor at the same institution since December 2019, having joined as an Assistant Professor in October 2014. Dr. Qutqut was also a visiting assistant professor at Queen's University's School of Computing and a research associate at the Telecommunications Research Lab from March 2017 to September 2019. He earned his Ph.D. in 2014 from Queen's University, where he conducted research under the supervision of Professor Hossam S. Hassanien. His master's degree in Telecommunication Systems was awarded by DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 2008, and he obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Systems from Applied Science University in Jordan in 2004. Dr. Qutqut is an active member of IEEE and ACM and has served as a Technical Program Committee co-chair and reviewer for various international conferences and journals. His research has been published in top-tier venues with a focus on networking.
