Biography

Mahsa Shoaran is an Associate Professor at EPFL in the field of Electrical Micro Engineering and serves as the director of the Integrated Neurotechnologies Laboratory. Her academic journey includes a tenure as an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech. Mahsa received her PhD from EPFL in 2015, following undergraduate and master’s degrees from Sharif University of Technology. Her research interests are broadly focused on circuit design, system development, and algorithmic approaches for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Mahsa has been recognized for her contributions, having received the ERC Starting Grant in 2021 and a Google Faculty Research Award in 2019, among other accolades. She has also been a member of various technical program committees, including IEEE CICC and ISSCC. Mahsa has been named a Rising Star in EECS by MIT in 2015 and continues to shape the future of neurotechnology education and research at EPFL.
