Biography

Majidul Islam is a Professor in the Department of Accountancy at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business. He began his career as a lecturer at Concordia University in August 1993. Dr. Islam has held faculty appointments at the University of Chittagong and the University of Nigeria, and has extensive experience working as a financial controller for the Government of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, and as a Chief Program Officer for the Micro Industries Development Services under the United States Agency for International Development in Dhaka. He holds a PhD from the Moscow Institute of National Economy and has numerous publications in refereed journals including the Journal of Business Ethics, Benchmarking-An International Journal, and Canadian Accounting Perspectives. His research interests primarily focus on Sustainability Environment, Total Quality Management, Ethical issues in financial reporting, and Accounting education. Throughout his career, Dr. Islam has presented papers at national and international conferences in countries such as Italy, the United States, and Australia.
