As a PhD student at the MR Research Centre at Aarhus University, I research metabolic MR imaging with a particular focus on clinical studies, where these advanced imaging techniques are applied and their clinical diagnostic potential is examined. My primary research interest is the application of hyperpolarized 13C-pyruvate MRI for characterizing metabolism in patients with ovarian cancer and chronic kidney disease, including polycystic kidney disease. Additionally, I collaborate on several other projects that utilize conventional proton MRI and other MR methods. I am trained as a medical doctor and am in my main training to become a specialist in radiology. Furthermore, I serve as the chair for the Young Radiologists Association in Central and Northern Jutland and hold an introductory position in urological surgery, focusing on urogenital radiology. My research centers around metabolic MRI focusing on clinical applications of hyperpolarized 13C-pyruvate MRI in oncology and kidney diseases, involving study design, coordination, execution of clinical trials, and image analysis to quantify metabolic changes in disease processes. My work contributes to the clinical translation of the method, which hopefully can be implemented as a clinical imaging diagnostic tool in the future.
