Biography

Malin Broberg is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Gothenburg. She became a licensed clinical psychologist and took on the role of Professor of Psychology in 2013. Broberg's research spans various areas, including the Swedish welfare system's support for families with disabled children and the ways individuals cope with stress, particularly how brain damage affects children's development. She primarily teaches developmental psychology, disability, and scientific methods, and supervises doctoral students in her research areas. In addition to her teaching, Broberg has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gothenburg from 2018 to 2023 and has been actively involved in research coordination within the habilitation health administration in the Region of Västra Götaland. Broberg is also engaged in international research, being the Secretary of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD). Her work has contributed to understanding parental self-rated performance in executive functioning regarding boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and examining communication needs for children with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities. Broberg has presented her research at various international conferences and has been published in several academic journals.
