Biography

Malin Sveningsson is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg, specializing in Communication Studies. She received her Ph.D. in 2001 from Linköping University, Sweden. Her research focuses on Digital Media, Computer-Mediated Communication, Internet Culture, Virtual Worlds, Social Interaction, Popular Culture, Youth Culture, and Gender Identity. Sveningsson has contributed significantly to the field through her publications including key works such as 'Cyberfeminism Northern Lights: Gender, Digital Media, Nordic Context' and various articles exploring the implications of #MeToo activism, online cultures, and youth engagement in digital spaces. She teaches qualitative methods and coordinates Bachelor's and Master's level theses courses, emphasizing theory and practical application in Communication Studies. Her current research includes projects that analyze #MeToo activism in Sweden, focusing on its development, consequences, and strategies.
