Biography

Mallory Trent is a Research Associate in the Biosecurity Program at the Kirby Institute. She is a PhD candidate whose research focuses on vaccine hesitancy and the evaluation of current vaccination policies in Australia. Her PhD project is entitled "Barriers and Enablers of Vaccination - Informing Whole Life Vaccination Policy" which aims to understand the factors influencing vaccination uptake. Mallory is also managing a data collection project related to a randomized trial on mask use during the bushfire season, investigating respiratory health outcomes and the effectiveness of influenza vaccines in preventing cardiovascular hospitalizations. Prior to joining the Biosecurity Program, she managed a cluster-randomized controlled trial assessing the impact of low-cost water quality test kits on household water quality in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of William and Mary.
