Biography

Mamatha Punjala is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine. She completed her medical training at the University of Bombay, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1982 and her MD in 1989. Dr. Punjala completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Maimonides Medical Center in New York and later a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. Since joining the Yale faculty in 2001, she has focused her practice on regional anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia, including participation in international medical missions to provide surgical care for children. Dr. Punjala is dedicated to sharing her expertise with trainees and supporting safe and effective anesthesia practices. She is board certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology, with her original certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology dating back to 2013.
