Biography

Currently an emeritus professor in Medicine, Oncology, and Pediatrics, Man-Chiu Poon has made significant contributions to the fields of hematology and bleeding disorders. He is a founding director of the Southern Alberta Rare Blood Bleeding Disorders Comprehensive Care Program, having served from 2007 to 2019, and has held various leadership roles in academic and clinical settings, including the head of the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies in the Department of Medicine. He has also served as a past president of the Canadian Hematology Society and the Association of Hemophilia Clinic Directors Canada, and volunteered with the World Federation of Hemophilia to enhance care and education in China.
