Biography

Dr. Muzumdar graduated from Harvard College and received his Doctorate of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital. Afterward, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before joining the faculty at Yale. Dr. Muzumdar's research explores the mechanisms by which genetic, environmental, and host factors contribute to cancer initiation, progression, and maintenance. Utilizing a combination of genetically-engineered cell and animal models, his lab aims to define the molecular basis of tumor cell and host adaptations that drive tumorigenesis. His ultimate research goal is to identify novel approaches to cancer prevention and treatment.
